Post-Study Work Pathways: University of Otago’s alumni benefit from strong industry connections and support in securing work visas post-graduation.

  • Post-Study Work Visa (PSWV): Graduates are eligible for a work visa for 1-3 years, depending on the level and duration of their study. This visa is a pathway to gain valuable international work experience and possibly permanent residency.
  • Part-Time Work Options: International students can work part-time (up to 20 hours a week) in New Zealand during study, with opportunities in various sectors. As well as up to 40 hours during the holiday season.You are paid on ‘hours’ and have a minimum wage of between $18.16 to $20.70 based on your age.

Admission Criteria

  • International students: They must provide evidence of English language proficiency through standardised tests such as PTE or IELTS.
  • Undergraduate Programmes: Secondary school qualification equivalent to New Zealand’s NCEA, subject prerequisites, English language proficiency.

  • Undergraduate Tuition Fees: Ranging from NZD 29,571 to NZD 91,791.
  • Cost of Living: Estimated NZD 20,000 to NZD 25,000 per year, covering accommodation, food, transportation, and other expenses.
